About me
Since a young child I’ve has an interest in drawing, painting and craft related activities. As I grew older I took on different hobbies related to anything Art and Design.
As a young teen it stayed mostly in the background as secondary school became a priority where all subjects were considered important and time for hobbies became nonexistent.
The passion to include Art and design seriously in my life came when I could choose to study Art & Textiles at school in my later teens.
I was encouraged to continue at college level and eventually went on to University where I completed a degree with honours in Textiles & Interior products.
Throughout studying I maintained jobs to sustain my studies and lifestyle. I was good at my job, got on well with the team enjoyed meeting people and helping customers.
The job involved me having to give my opinion and share my knowledge. Being appreciated made it worthwhile.
But I knew I wanted to do more, one day become my own boss, accomplish something to do with what I was passionate about, even though it was still only a hobby. I didn’t know what that would be exactly, or how I would get there, I had lots of ideas but needed to focus and find guidance so that the ideas could work together somehow...
I started a family and found it almost impossible to go back to my jobeven part time. Ok with one baby I managed it, and then with two babies it became a strain to go back and forth to work.
I kept reminding myself of the ideal dream job that was somewhere out there. Maybe something I could create with the right help. But where was the help? I was determined to find something I could
do from home
so my family never came second.
I was determined to focus on my
passion
My searching (via Google) started six months or so before the birth of my second child. I would search for business start ups, work from home opportunities, internet marketing the list was endless, and usually a scam of some kind but I eventually stumbled on
SiteSell
and have never looked back.
SBI has shown me a realistic non jargon way to build my own successful internet business, and so www.the-best-modern-furniture.com was born a few months later (once I had grasped a few internet, business and marketing fundamentals).
Did I mention I had absolutely no experience to begin with?
So if I can do it, so can you!

Anyway I was still due back at my employer but made a last minute un-regrettable decision to resign.
Finding time for myself was difficult and I needed to organise myself differently.
And of course my babies, I hated to leave them. It made me more determined to try something new, take on a challenge to improve my life and my family’s well being for the foreseeable future.
At least this way I could dedicate better time to my site
(so now I spend as much spare time as possible dedicated to expanding my site. I work from home and get to spend all the time I need with my family).
So what exactly do I do? Well the ultimate goal is to find and show a vast range of modern furniture on a global scale and make it accessible.
Like what you discover? It can be yours... or just browse for inspiration and information.
I read as many interior decorating, design, home and lifestyle magazines as possible, visit exhibitions and research using the internet to keep up to date with the latest trends and innovative products from mid century to recent ultra modern innovation (so you don’t have to!). And of course internet marketing brings to light the many products you are after.
I bring together the best examples of these (using mostly my own judgement) in an easy to read format and at the same time introducing you to the place you can buy it if you choose to.
You will notice a variation of products. From designer to high street, something for everyone at prices you as an individual or business can afford. Discover the best modern furniture for you.
I do at one stage hope to create a gallery page so that you can have an input. For example, readers could send in pictures of their favourite furniture piece with a small caption to tell its ‘story’ and why it’s the best. It would just be interesting to see the variations and similarities of everyone that takes part!
Be inspired...
Please bear with me as this site matures it’s still very new. There is still a lot of exciting info, furniture and accessories to come...
You will notice that some places may not ship overseas yet. But do contact me if this is the case (or for anything else), I will endeavour to find what you need somewhere more local who can.
